August 22, 2024 – Watchman River Tom – Watching for the rapture!

Rapture verses. 2 Thessalonians 2: 7-9. Tom says we have the restrainer, the Holy Spirit within us which will be removed by the rapture. 

1 Corinthians 15: 51-52. In the twinkling of an eye the trumpet will sound and we will be changed. A new body for eternity! 

Tom says we try to get unbelievers to see what it will be like and wonder why do they reject Him and His offer of eternal life. Jesus did all the work. 

1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18. Be comforted to know we leave this world to be with Him. 

1 John 14: 1-3. He is preparing mansions for us, to be with Him! 

Tom says knowing about the rapture should inspire us to share the Gospel. Share the light of Jesus in these last days. He told us so we can know and share.

Israel News:

Military escalation on Lebanon front continues with Hezbollah launching heavy barrages. 120 rockets at civilian areas at the Golan Heights. IDF strikes on Hezbollah the last 24 hours kills at least 4 including an Iranian  that was involved directly in terror activity.

IDF Command officer tells Gallant it is ready to launch a possible invasion within 60 seconds of a strike order if Hezbollah begins a strike.

Lebanon politician tells local Israel TV the war is expected to erupt within days or hours. 

Israel defense says without  war to force Hezbollah to go north tens of thousands of Israelis will leave the Golan Heights upper Galilee area.  They are no longer willing to live under the threat of terror attack that would be much worse than October 7 they say.

Tom says the people from the north have left their homes for months waiting and getting tired of the constant threat.

Standing near the wreckage of a heavy rocket barrage in N. Israel Gvir calls for a harsh response and demands Netanyahu give him greater influence over the management of the conflict. Says they have to attack, make a campaign. Says this is the opportunity we must not miss.

IDF launches intensive strikes against Hezbollah and 10 areas of S. Lebanon. 

Amir: Gallant says more than 150 tunnels have been demolished along Egypt, Gaza border. 

Amir: Sinwar who once said it would be an honor to fight against Israel made his own survival a condition of any ceasefire in Gaza. A guarantee he will not be assassinated. 

Tom says they reported the 6 hostage bodies they found shown they were killed by bullets. 

In a phone call  Netanyahu had with  Biden and Harris it is said they tried to urge Netanyahu to compromise even more in order to keep the deal alive. Netanyahu remains firm that Israel will not surrender control of key positions in Gaza even for hostage release deal. 

China urges citizens in Lebanon to leave as soon as possible.

Putin said Ukraine tried to attack its nuclear power station.

Tom says  please continue to pray, says we have many brothers and sister in all the areas. So ready to go Home.

Weather:

6 rivers overflowed in India with widespread flooding. It impacted over 56,000 families with rescue efforts. Tom says seeing floods like we have never seen before. 

Volcano eruption grounds flights in New Zealand. May be last for a while. 

Gospel: 

Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God came to the earth to lay down His life, shed His blood as a full payment for all sins. He died so we may have life.

All we need to do is admit of being a sinner and need of a Savior. Receive, believe and thank Him. Will be born again, filled with Holy Spirit and rapture ready to be with Him forever.

Be saved today, in His perfect family of God forever.
