The California wildfires:

Winds that had calmed down are expected to pick up again tonight and into Monday. With already dry conditions and the intense winds it will accelerate the fires and make it hard to put them out. At least 5 blazes causing destruction in highly populated areas not known for fires. The winds  will shift back to the Northeast with gusts of 35-50 mph over LA and Ventura counties. Some gusts of 50-75 mph may be possible in the mountains.

There is loss of lives. The death toll at 11 expected to rise. At least 2 people died while trying to protect their homes and another who stayed behind with his son who has cerebral palsy and could not evacuate.

Large areas of destruction look like a nuclear bomb was dropped in some of the areas. The Palisades fire is the most destructive in LA history. It is getting closer to San Fernando Valley, a heavily populated area with almost 2 million people. 

More than 12,000 structures are damaged or destroyed. More than 150,000 people remain under mandatory evacuation orders. New evacuation order in Palisades as the fires move east across LA. More than 58 square miles have burned. The national weather service is warning of elevated fire risks for all of LA and Ventura counties until Wednesday. Palisades fire burned more than 21,000 acres. Say it is now 8% contained. Pasadena area has burned nearly 14,000 acres and is now 3% contained. 

Hundreds of animals roaming around. Trying to find homes for them. 

Many of the fires are arson they say.

We are praying for God to work His good. Tom says his friend Mark lives in the area and showing videos from his home, how bad it is. We pray for those displaced and in harm’s way. Such darkness. We are waiting for Jesus to call us in the rapture and we pray. 

The Middle East: 

Amir said Netanyahu is expected to approve a senior delegation led by the head of Mossad for hostages talks in Qatar. Trump’s envoy to the Middle  East has been  involved. Trump has demanded Hamas to release all hostages before he takes office on January 20. Trump’s envoy met with Qatar’s PM to discuss negotiation efforts.

The Houthis struck Israel 2 nights ago. Then yesterday US, UK and Israel attacked Yemen. Netanyahu reports the Houthis will pay a price for attacking. Said they attacked the costal strip and deep inside Yemen. Says the Houthis serve the terrorist goals of Iran. A danger to Israel and the entire  region. A threat to global freedom.

Houthis threaten an unprecedented response against US, British, and Israel targets. 

Israel ex defense minister Liberman said Israel has no choice but to attack Iran’s nuclear project. Said Iran crossed the red lines while advancing toward nuclear weapons. Tom says it looks like this will happen. We read in Jeremiah 49 about breaking the bow in Elam, that is the location of where Iran has  its nuclear operations. 

Thousands of fighters of Iran’s revolutionary guard corps paraded with heavy weapons and vehicles through the streets of Iran’s capital showing their readiness to face threats. Vehicles armed with rocket launchers, artillery and naval commanders moved through the streets. Fighters in combat gear marched on foot with rocket launchers. Black clad women carried rifles. Some dragged coffins adorned with Israel flags. Flags of Hezbollah terror group flew with Palestinian banners. Tom says they are trying to look bolder. 

We watch all this because we are told to watch for the signs of the return of Jesus and the events that are given us in the Bible. We can see this is about the end to the church age. Then is the 7 year tribulation and then Jesus comes back for His 2nd coming. Then He rules and reigns from His throne in Jerusalem. Then after the 1,000 years is the New Heavens and New Earth.

Gospel: be saved by believing in what Jesus did to save us from sins so we can go to heaven with a Holy God. Jesus made the way for us to be saved from all sins that affect each person. He came to earth from heaven to die and shed His blood that has the power to forgive every sin, past present and future forever. He was the perfect sacrifice required, 100% God, 100% man, without sin.  A free gift, nothing we do or can do, because He loves us. 

Admit of sin and need for a Savior and believe in what He did and receive forgiveness. Will be saved, born again, receive Holy Spirit and eternal life in heaven with Jesus. If reject Jesus and His sacrifice will not go to heaven but to hell forever.

Be saved today, do not wait one minute. Do not want to be here during the 7 year tribulation on earth but in heaven with the family of God forever.

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler

And from the perilous pestilence.

4 He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,

Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,

Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

And ten thousand at your right hand;
