Watchman River Tom – April 18, 2024 –  The UN is Doing What?

Another good day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in this day He made for us as we await the pre-tribulation rapture.  We know this is the time and season.

No time to recommend a snack!  But maybe you would have a Slim Jim and Yahoo chocolate drink!

We need this in these days, threatening nuclear war like handing out breath mints.

2 Corinthians 5:7. We walk by faith not by sight.  Colossians 3:23-24. Whatever you do, do it heartedly as to the Lord, not to men knowing from the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance for you serve the Lord Christ.

Psalms 73:23 – my flesh and my heart fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  Psalms 3:3 He will lead us and guide us. Psalms 25:4 – show me Your way teach me Your paths.

News:

UN General Assembly set to vote Friday for full Palestinian UN Membership.  Israel’s ally US expected to block because it would effectively recognize a Palestinian State.  15 member council due to vote Friday for a draft resolution. Recommends to 193 member UN General Assembly that the state of Palestine be admitted to a membership of UN.  It needs at least 9 votes in favor and no veto by US, Britain, France, Russia or China to pass.  Saying it could have the support of up to 13 council members which would force the US to use its veto.  Tom thinks the US would veto but surprised it would even come up.

Amir – China announced its supports of inclusion of Palestine as a member of UN. Amir jokes and says what about Narnia?

Tom says but there’s no such thing as Palestine.  How do they allow something that doesn’t exist?  The land is  Israel’s.

Channel 7 Israel National News – Egyptian sources say now US agreed to Israel’s plan for Rafah operation.  US saying as long as Israel doesn’t carry out a wide scale strike on Iranian soil.  The source say Egypt’s military is on high alert along the Gaza, Egypt border in the event of ground invasion of IDF into Rafah.

Israel Today – Egyptian sources tell Qatari media US has agreed to back an Israeli operation in Gaza border town of Rafah in return for Israel not striking Iran, lesser of 2 evils.  Talk in Israel is after Passover reservists will be called up and the fighting in Gaza will resume.  

Times of Israel  saying Israel is unlikely to strike Iran before the end of Passover.  The Jewish holiday begins Monday evening and runs through  April 30th.  Reports are Israel was ready twice this week then dropped plans.  Tom says, this strange world of announcing wars.

Israel Radar -says there are  a lot of reports of Israel delaying retaliation until after Passover.  The main day is April 22, the Passover meal which Israel doesn’t want to disrupt.  Dates after that could be used as it means less disruption to home front, no school and many Israelis abroad on vacation.  At the same time Hezbollah is stepping up attacks as a further distraction and IDF prepares for Rafah so for now Israel is not going against Iran but risk of larger clash with Iran and Hezbollah soon.  

Jerusalem Post – Iran evacuates Hezbollah IRGC commanders from Syria.  Also now says Iranians are leaving Syria fearing an Israeli attack.

7 Israel National News reports Iran is bracing for Israel counterstrike.  Said getting Air Force ready and Navy putting commercial ships in the Red Sea.

Tom says more and more reports about how miraculous the strike to Israel from Iran was.  That nothing got through. God’s protection.

Israel Today – former chief rabbi said also with that, another miracle that the international forces, including Arab armies stood by Israel.  Said it showed God’s way of protecting His people.  Because of God, 99% of all the drone were destroyed without harming Israel he said.

Weather

Heavy rains in Afghanistan kill 70.  It had an unusually dry winter which made flash floods worse.

Insider Paper – Indonesia evacuated thousands after a volcano erupts causing tsunami threat.

6.3 earthquake in Western Japan.  Last 24 hours earthquakes 57 over 4.0, 10 over 5.0. 1 over 6.0.

Newsweek – a 911 outage hit some states last night.  All of South Dakota, parts of Nebraska, Nevada and Texas. Some has been restored, no cause found.  

Clown World

Germans can now change their gender every year.  They can change them every year on legal documents without surgery or hormone therapy.  Law into effect in November. Tom says, Lord come back, we are ready.

Another:  says what is it really like to eat lab grown meat?  Like beef with the flaky texture of fish or Lamb flavored ice cream.  A restaurant in Singapore charges 328 dollars a person for a 7 course menu.  The company called Vow says it features a parfait made from cells of a Japanese quail, growing this in a lab.  Problem is, it’s expensive to make they say.  Tom says, and people don’t want it.  I’ll just have water.

Bloomberg:  WHO new AI powered ChatBot is giving wrong medical answers.  Says although the bot responds to facial expressions it doesn’t know what it is talking about!   Crazy!

Comments – 

The Lord teaches us lessons in our experiences.  As we let Him.  He takes us through the hard times as we trust in Him.  Our outlook and trust in Him is an example to others and evidence of God’s care.  It can bless and strengthen others.

Wants to talk to young people in their teens and 20’s.  He’s 27, without wife and kids, or career.  Says what is here is nothing compared to our soon wedding and marriage with Jesus and the Millennial Kingdom reign.  Says forget about things we may not have and sprint and finish the race strong.  For the crown of righteousness is waiting for those who love His coming.

It is freeing to know we can’t earn it, prove it or validate it or maintain it.  We desire not to sin with consequences but know He cares for us and keeps us.

Gospel –

Jesus paid it all with His blood.  Cannot earn any of it.  The King of kings and Lord of lords.  Left heaven to die on a cross for us, because He loves us and wants us to be together forever.

He did all that was required.  Perfect sacrifice, God’s only begotten Son, came to die for all our sins. Just need to believe in that and receive the payment of  all our sins removed and can go to heaven.  

Believe, be saved, God’s Holy Spirit given, rapture ready, for heaven. 

Warns if reject, will go to hell. 

Jesus wants all to be saved.  Be saved today.
